When Davey signed up with the UWL, he was welcomed with open arms by the Americans, and he thought he was coming to a respectable company where he would find the best competition in the world. Instead what he found were people dressing up and playing out characters, getting in the ring and putting on a bad acting job instead of a good wrestling match. He went to an old friend in John Wilcox for advice, who was already planning a comeback alongside the Cavens, all three of whom had similar concerns. Thus No Gimmicks Needed was born, and Davey and his new friends waged war on the superstars that they believed didn't belong in a true wrestling promotion.

During all these wars however, Wilcox and The Cavens picked up many injuries, and have since left the UWL to focus on getting back to full health. This left Davey to fight the good fight by himself, which he continued to do valiantly, but without much progress. He sought to reform NGN, picking up Michael Motto, Robert Moore and Shane Corona as reluctant stablemates. NGN had a great year in 2004, with Davey, Motto and Moore dominating the tag team division, holding the UWL Tag Titles for over half the year.

Davey also drove an anti-drugs campaign in the UWL, which was unsuccessful due to CEO Beacom striking a deal with LEGEND. Later in the year, tragedy struck the Dee family as Davey's cousin Debbie was attacked and hospitalized by Sandy Raines. Davey and Sandy fought a war that ended with a Three Stages Of Hell match. Davey lost, but it turned out that Sandy was being forced to attack innocent people to safeguard his own sister. The physical and mental effects of his battles with Raines forced Davey to take some time off. However, not long after he left, a character calling himself The Chameleon appeared on UWL screens. This man dressed, spoke and fought like past greats of the UWL, imitating them perfectly. Sean Tylor eventually stepped up to try and unmask The Chameleon, and did so, revealing the man underneath to be Davey Dee. Davey explained that he wanted to return No Gimmicks Needed to their original ideals, and that the only way he could get everyone to take notice was to become the ultimate gimmick.

Unfortunately his dream wasn't to last, as Michael Motto left the group to seek fame and fortune on his own, and Shane Corona had to leave due to family matters. The relationship between Davey and Robert Moore slowly drifted apart, and Davey had to admit that NGN was dead.

Nowadays he tries to lead by example in order to spread his ideals to others. He wants nothing more than for the UWL to get better with each passing week, and he now realizes that instead of forcing out those who don't subscribe to his image of the future, he should teach them instead. Show the young stars how to act, prove to them that with hard work comes the biggest rewards, and the fans get the best show, ensuring that the UWL continues to thrive.

Appearance: Davey has an athletic build, shaved brown hair and blue eyes. His typically wrestling gear is either a blue unitard with a white St. Andrews Cross wrapped around the torso, or a red tartan unitard. His boots and kneepads are black, with a trim that matches his unitard. He has a tattoo on his right arm of the Scottish St. Andrews Cross flag and the words "Made in Scotland" underneath. Outside the ring he can normally be found wearing blue jeans, t-shirt, and a denim jacket.
