Gimmick:
Eli came into the league trying to surpass the accomplishments of his Hall of Fame uncle The Gimp. Namely to win the world championship and to lower the stigma of animal love. Eli isn't worried about flash or fame. Eli's goal is simple: become dominant.

Appearance:
In the ring Eli wrestles shirtless, wearing knee-length, cut off shorts, mostly camouflage, but sometimes he'll wear torn carpenter style shorts. Out of the ring, he prefers wearing a hoodie, with jeans or camouflage shorts. In warmer weather, he'll just wear a t-shirt with shorts.

In his time off, he’s slimmed down. He's still an obviously strong man, but now has a little more definition than before. He’s still no body builder. The loss of weight has helped with his quickness.

Eli now keeps his head shaved. He’ll appear with a stubbly head and face, or freshly shaven. Eli has “strength beyond strength” tattood in script, black letters across the top of his back in an arc. He has a few small scars on his torso and back, from the torturous acts of Scott McClowd/Chris Metzen, when he was tied to a tree.

Background:
A native of Appalachian Ohio, Eli’s always been known more for his family. A unique clan in the area that fit many stereotypes of people from the hills. He grew up idolizing his uncle, The Gimp. Wanting to emulate The Gimp Eli continued with the Gimp’s (and the Herd’s) practices after being forced to move to a farm in northern Saskatchewan. There, Eli began training to one day join the UWL. His training included farm work, sparring with others on the farm and in the area, and wrestling different animals. Eli's focus was submission. Eli strived to make anyone pass out, man or beast. After leaving the UWL, The Gimp joined Eli on the farm to help with Eli's training.

Eli’s time in the UWL has been filled with constant mistakes and opportunities to learn. First, how to conduct himself in mainstream society. Upon entering the UWL, Eli continued with his family's practices. Eli soon learned his lesson, though, and quickly changed his ways. Upon finding a home in western Cleveland, Eli began focusing more on his wrestling skills.

Once Eli stopped with the extracurriculars, he quickly found himself in the mix of the UWL Eliminator Title. Eli found himself winning and losing this title, just as quickly, several times in the first half of 2007. Eli also found himself in his first feud of his career, with the split-personalitied Scott McClowd/Chris Metzen. This feud ultimately cost Eli one of his brief reigns as the Eliminator Champ, and the dearest relative in Eli's life, his grandmother. McClowd/Metzen abducted Eli during one episode of Frenzy, tied him to a tree, and tortured him during and after the show. Eli could no longer ignore several attempts McClowd/Metzen made to get under Eli's skin, so Eli fought fire with fire. Eli's first appearance on Road to Glory lacked a match, as he tortured McClowd/Metzen and beat him to within an inch of his life. Eli even branded an "e" on McClowd/Metzen. Having thought that he removed the pest from his life, Eli and the UWL were later shown tapes of the abduction and hiding of Eli's grandmother. That saga ended with Eli's grandmother inadvertently running off a cliff while she was blindfolded. McClowd/Metzen has never returned to the UWL.

The rest of 2007 went with Eli striving for the Intercontinental Title, failing repeatedly. But Eli was earning some stripes and respect.
After the UWL's brief work stoppage in 2008, Eli decided to test his abilities against the best of the best. Eli started with a legend, a working Hall of Famer and the UWL World Champ, Misery. Through beating Misery, Eli earned a title shot. Before Eli's first shot at the UWL World Title, he continued to test himself against the best of the best. Owen Jude, Cohen Kanno and former World Champs, Sean Tylor and Matt Steele. He beat them all. Eli fell short, and hard, during his first World Title match against Misery, in his first Hell in the Cell match.

Apparently earning Misery’s respect, Eli was given a couple more shots at Misery and his title. While Eli was making his way to finally beat Misery in a title match, his war of words was growing with Cohen Kanno. Eli finally beat Misery to become the UWL World Title, a feat he set out to accomplish from day one.

But Eli’s “reign” was very short-lived and criticized heavily. After losing his title at Midsummer’s Nightmare, Eli quickly received devastating news. Not only did he find out that he had a 4 year-old son, he found out that his son was dying. While Eli was given a chance to watch his die during the week, he was failing in the ring on the weekends. Eli’s focus left him. Then, without any notice, Eli disappeared. Eli didn’t realize that it would be his last match, as his son died shortly after.

Eli spent over 8 months learning how to grieve and grow. Eli began retraining. Eli used training as a means of stress relief. Soon Eli realized that he may be ready to return. Eli’s mind is clear. Eli’s new focus is to accept his role and position in the league, at the bottom of the ladder. Eli’s plan is to use the rest of 2009 to prepare for a serious run of competition in 2010. Eli’s plan also includes accepting the possibility that if he’s not at the level he seeks, the end of June 2010 may be the end of his career.
